Eggless Chocolate Cake

Egg less Chocolate Cake Recipe


This simple egg-less chocolate cake is fast, tasty and produces a lovely moist sponge.


Ingredients for your egg-less chocolate cake:


Flour – 1 ½ cups (200 grams)

Granulated Sugar – 1 cup (200 Grams)

Cocoa powder – ¼ cup (25 grams)

Baking Powder – 1 tablespoon

Baking Soda – 1 tablespoon

Salt – ¼ tablespoon

Melted unsalted butter – 1/3 cup (75 grams)

1/3 cup.• Warm Water

2 Tbsp White Vinegar – this adds suppleness to the egg less chocolate cake recipe. If you need to you can use malt vinegar.

1 Tbsp vanilla extract

100 grams of dark chocolate melted if you want to glaze your cake


Making your egg-less chocolate cake


Preheat the oven to 177C, grease a baking tray or line with baking parchment and line that.

Mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt and sieve it all.

Now mix the wet ingredients of your egg-less chocolate cake – the warm water, vinegar, and the melted butter.

Add the sugar to the wet mixture, and mix until the sugar dissolves.

Pour the Eggless chocolate cakewet mixture of your chocolate cake recipe to the dry flour mixture, and mix it well. The fluffiness of the egg less chocolate cake recipe depends on how well you whisk it.

Add the batter slowly to your baking pan. It is a good idea to line the pan with baking parchment and grease it as well. Make sure that the egg less batter spreads out evenly. After pouring, tilt the pan slightly on all sides so that the batter sticks to the edges. This will help the cake to cook evenly and stay flat.

Slide in the baking pan into oven and bake at 177C. Check after 30 mins.Take a toothpick and push it through the centre of the cake. If it comes off nice and dry, your cake is ready.

Gently melt the chocolate until it smooth. Let it cool for about 5 minutes and spread it over your chocolate cake, once it has cooled.


Alternative ingredients


If you want a richer flavor use coffee instead of water. For the adults adding a tot of rum is also an option, but make sure you include it in your liquid measurements.

If you are calorie conscious use any white vegetable oil instead of butter. Or use an equal proportion mixture of oil and applesauce instead. Make sure the applesauce is properly pureed.
